Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 test: the almost perfect computer with little less

The Yoga Pro 7 made available to us by Lenovo is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 AI 365 processor. It is a processor provided with 4 Zen 5 and 6 Zen 5C cores, equipped with multithreading, 10 physical cores and 20 logical cores. Zen 5 cores can reach 5 GHz while Zen 5C hearts are satisfied with 3.3 GHz for a power envelope of 28 W and peaks up to 54 W. 32 GB of RAM accompany the processor to accomplish its tasks.

The Yoga Pro 7 and its Ryzen 9 AI 365 obtain a performance index of 81, thus placing it between the Ryzen 9 AI 370HX of the Laptop 13 Framework and the Core Ultra 9 285h of the MSI Prestige 16. This demonstrates that the Yoga 7 Pro offers sufficient cooling for its processor to be fully expressed, unlike the Laptop 13 of FrameWork, better equipped and less efficient.

In practice, the pro 7 yoga is more than valiant in all the tasks that we subject to it: video encoding, photo editing, 3D creation. Lenovo’s Yoga Pro 7 has a 14.5 -inch Oled slab displaying 2880 x 1800 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh frequency. By default, it is fixed at 60 Hz, which requires user handling. We would have appreciated that Lenovo opted for a VRR slab (variable refresh rate) automatically adapting the frequency to the content displayed.

Under the probe, the yoga 7 pro slab is perfectly calibrated. The delta E is 1.2, well below the threshold of 3 beyond which the eye perceives the colorimetric drifts. The temperature is a little above the 6,500 k video standard with 6878 k measured, but nothing to worry.

Thanks to the OLED panel, the contrasts are almost infinite for blacks more than perfect in your films and series, and the remanence time less than 1 ms is perfect for responsiveness.
The maximum brightness is 391 cd/m², a very correct value for a laptop PC, but well insufficient to counter the reflections of its brilliant slab which returns almost 52.5 % of the light. Forget outdoor use.

The Yoga Pro 7 14ASP9 is a high -end oriented laptop model without turning to the gabegie of more or less useful technologies; We think in particular of the double screens or the image products sold overpriced.

Thus, the Yoga Pro 7 has the last components of the moment: a Ryzen 9 AI 365 processor from AMD, a 14.5 -inch OLED panel offering an excellent yoga compromise between portability and comfort.

The aluminum frame used by Lenovo perfectly highlights the whole with a very qualitative and rather sober finish.

Lenovo positions his pro 7 yoga to just over 1500 euros according to the discounts observed in the various resellers. A higher price placement than that of a MacBook Air M4 at Apple, which places it in front of a MacBook Pro 14 sold from € 1899.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 is a rather dense laptop for handling. We are far from the lightness of the Asus Zenbook 14 or even the Apple MacBook Air, and for good reason: the Yoga Pro 7 weighs 1.52 kg while the Zenbook 14 is under the kilogram of the kilogram and the MacBook Air just below 1.3 kg.

The chassis is made of aluminum, it is therefore difficult to understand where its overweight comes from since its battery is in the norm. On the other hand, its thickness is rather important: 18.4 mm for a 14.5 inches, we saw much more slender. After disassembly, it turns out that this chassis is normally designed to accommodate a dedicated GEFORCE RTX 3050 or equivalent GPU, and Lenovo has, it seems, seen a little large in this eventuality, except that our model is ultimately devoid of it.

The opening of the pro 7 yoga lets discover a screen with a shiny finish and a light gray keyboard surrounded by perforations for the speakers on the entire height of the keyboard, although the speakers occupy only the lower part. Let’s say, the interior of Lenovo’s offspring is successful and has its little effect, sharp with the sobriety of its exterior. Especially since the quality of finish is there.

The backlit keyboard, with its rounded keys on their lower part, offers a very pleasant and well -marked shot. It will be necessary to get used to a race a little higher than the average, but that does not bother the strikes.

The touchpad is generous width and its slide does not suffer from any hitch. Windows gestures are carried out without difficulty and the lower part of the pavement does not overlap during clicks.

The connection consists of an HDMI port and two USB4 ports on the left edge, while on the opposite we find a full -format USB port and a jack. Small subtlety, the start -up button is also on the edge, with a webcam switch. We regret the absence of a memory card reader, while this can be very useful for pros, a priori target of this pro 7 yoga.

A word on the webcam that opts for a Full HD sensor. Its rendering is correct, you can still see noise and a lack of details. This should be suitable for video calls, especially as the NPU integrated into the Ryzen AI processor, the Windows Studio effects are available without beating the battery.
